Bring your lawn chair and bug spray and enjoy another summer of free theatre in Greeley Park on Concord Street in Nashua! This year's show, The Beard of Avon, is a comedy that explores the early days of William Shakespeare in London and asks the question, Is he truly the author of all of those great plays? As real historical figures mix with and become the prototypes for well recognized characters such as Beatrice and Benedict and King Lear, you will delight in the mystery being explored.
Starring Max Bisantz as Will, Gail Angellis as Queen Elizabeth, Steve Triebes as Edward DeVere and other local favorites Arthur Barlas, John Decareau, Suzanne Delle, Wally Pineault, Eric St. Cyr and Don Tongue, The Beard of Avon is sure to delight those who are deeply familiar with the world of Shakespeare and his contemporaries and those who just want to sit on the grass under the stars and enjoy a fun comedy.
Sponsored by NH State Council on the Arts, the City of Nashua, Nashua Rotary West, Building #19 Foundation, Lincoln Financial Group and Nashua Corporation.

Adult Comedy Classes Offered this July
Yellow Taxi Productions is offering classes in downtown Nashua to advance the adult performer's resume and repertoire.
"Improv Comedy," runs two consecutive Sundays on July 13th and 20th from 7-8:30pm at $50. Improvisational theatre also known as improv is a form of theatre in which the actors typically use audience suggestions to guide the performance as they create dialogue, setting, and plot extemporaneously.
"Commedia dell'Arte" is one night only on Monday, July 21st from 7-9pm for $20. Commedia dell'Arte is more familiar than it sounds – as the prototype for our modern sitcom. Commedia dell'Arte featured stock characters, some of whom wore distinctive masks.
Workshops are taught by James Phillips, who was the founder and director Capitol City Improv for seven years and directed The Drawer Boy and Six Nights in the Black Belt for YTP, both which earned him Best Director Nominations at the NH Theatre Awards. Currently he is visiting faculty at Wabash College in Indiana and is directing The Beard of Avon for YTP this summer.
